DAVENPORT, Iowa — A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Davenport on Saturday night, according to a Davenport Police Department news release.
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. in the 600 block of Waverly Road. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 45-year-old man was driving southbound on Waverly Road when his vehicle struck a 25-year-old man who was walking on the shoulder of the road. The man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
This incident remains under investigation; no further information is available at this time.
