Pedestrian struck by vehicle during early morning hours in Silvis

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old female, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.

SILVIS, Ill. — Police are investigating an early morning accident in Silvis involving a pedestrian. 

According to a press release, Silvis police officers were dispatched to the intersection of John Deere Road and 16th Avenue by Walmart for a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. 

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old female, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. 

No traffic citations have been given in the case and police say the investigation is ongoing. 

Silvis police were assisted by the Moline Police Department, Rock Island County Sheriff's Department and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
