DAVENPORT, Iowa — A Rock Island teenager charged in connection to a shooting at NorthPark Mall in July has pleaded guilty, court records show.
On Nov. 12, the 16-year-old pleaded guilty to the following charges: intimidation with a dangerous weapon and control of a firearm by a felon. News 8 is not yet naming the teenager due to his age.
The shooting took place on July 22. Arrest records allege the teenager and another suspect, 29-year-old Ricardo Horne of Rock Island, shot at each other inside the mall. The 16-year-old and a bystander were injured in the incident.
The teenager had previously pleaded not guilty but withdrew that plea. His sentencing hearing is set for Jan. 30, 2025.
