ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — On Friday, May 10, the Niabi Zoo announced the opening of its newest exhibit called "Enrichment in Action" located in the exhibit gallery of the administration building.
The interactive experience aims to show guests the tools and strategies the Zoo uses to help animals stay physically active and mentally stimulated.
Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the focused categories of animal enrichment and experience how the animals at the Zoo use the devices in their enclosures.
Some of the experiences include foraging for insects in a ball pit like a meerkat, lounging like a leopard on a firehose bed, or crawling through an enrichment tunnel like a Pallas's Cat among others.
To find the exhibit, take a right after passing through the ticket plaza and enter through the glass doors.
The Niabi Zoo is still making repairs after being impacted by the winter snowstorms and is still taking donations to build a better Niabi for future generations.
The Niabi Zoo Foundation is taking donations, which 100% of the funds will benefit the recovery of the enclosures.
