MUSCATINE, Iowa — The City of Muscatine may have found its next interim city administrator.
At a special meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6 p.m., the Muscatine City Council will vote on whether or not to approve current Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies for the position. According to city officials, Kies has been with the Muscatine Police Department for 18 years and became chief in March 2023.
A contract for Kies hasn't been drafted yet. According to city officials, council members will discuss terms of employment after the meeting's agenda is completed if Kies is approved, and a vote on the proposed contract will be held the following week on Thursday, Aug. 15.
