MUSCATINE, Iowa — Two men were arrested following a string of alleged car burglaries in Muscatine.
According to Muscatine police, officers received reports of two men breaking into a vehicle in the 200 block of West Seventh Street on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Police officials said they apprehended the suspects around 9:30 p.m. after they attempted to flee the scene.
Officers arrested 18-year-old Zachary E. Early and 18-year-old Justin C. Bass. investigators claim the two are also responsible for two other burglaries targeting local vehicles, as well as an additional attempted burglary, around the same area where they were arrested.
Early and Bass were charged with the following:
- Third-degree burglary
- Third-degree criminal mischief
- Fourth-degree criminal mischief
- Third-degree attempted burglary
Bass was also individually charged with possession of burglary tools after a broken off screwdriver was found in his pocket, according to a criminal complaint.
