Motorcyclist killed in Scott County crash

The victim's name hasn't been released.

DONAHUE, Iowa — One person is dead and another is injured after a crash in Scott County on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to calls reporting a crash on the 24100 block of 115th Avenue in Donahue around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. According to investigators, a 2018 Ford Fusion was driving south on 115th Avenue, while a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading north on the same road. Investigators believe the Fusion crossed the center line into the northbound lane and then struck the motorcycle.

The motorcycle's rider, a 60-year-old man from Grand Mound, was declared dead at the scene of the crash. The Fusion's driver, a 75-year-old woman from Donahue, was hospitalized. Law enforcement officials said that she's in stable condition.

The names of the drivers involved in the crash haven't been released. The crash is still under investigation.
