Mother and 4 children injured in car crash in Carroll County

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said that two of the children have life-threatening injuries.

CARROLL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, Ill — Five people are injured following a single-car accident in Carroll County.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, officers received reports of a car accident shortly before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 between Fairhaven Road and Thomson Road, approximately ten miles south of Mount Carroll. Authorities believe the vehicle struck a tree.

Upon arrival, officers found 36-year-old Kristin M. Dolieslager of Thomson and four children in the crashed vehicle. Officers said the children were 12, 4, 3 and 2 years old. All five people involved in the crash were hospitalized to seek medical treatment. 

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said that two of the children have life-threatening injuries; no information was released on the condition of Dolieslager or the other two children.
