MOLINE, Ill. — Officials have released the identity of a Moline woman found dead in a car Tuesday morning, according to a press release.

Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson has identified the victim as 43-year-old Victoria Tillotson of Moline. Around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, officers with the Moline Police Department responded to an apartment building in the 3600 block of 25th Street after learning of a female dead inside a parked car. Police began an investigation and found she had "been shot by a handgun while sitting inside a vehicle," the release states.
Officials say that Tillotson was "in a dating relationship" with 35-year-old David J. McAdams of Rock Island.
McAdams is facing charges in connection to the incident, including first-degree murder, unlawful use of weapons by a felon, and concealment of a homicidal death.
According to court documents, McAdams' first court appearance was Thursday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. The case remains under investigation by the department.
On Friday, Feb. 9, Gustafson reported that the preliminary autopsy revealed that Tillotson died from a gunshot wound to the head. The case is being investigated by the Moline Police Department and the Rock Island County Coroner's Office.
