Police: Suspected homicide investigation underway in Moline after woman found dead inside car

Police say it was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public.

MOLINE, Ill. — A death investigation is underway in Moline after police found a woman dead in a vehicle, according to a press release.

Around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the Moline Police Department responded to an apartment building in the 3600 block of 25th Street after learning of a female dead inside a parked car. The department said in a press release that the death is believed to be a homicide and a person of interest is in custody.

Police say it was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public. Detectives with the department's Criminal Investigation Division are investigating.
