MOLINE, Ill. — The City of Moline has a new Public Works Director.
On Wednesday, Jan. 10, city officials announced Denver Schmitt has been appointed to the position. A graduate of Northern Illinois University, Schmitt most recently worked for the City of Bettendorf as a human resources generalist.
“I am passionate about providing public service and have been fortunate to work in the public sector throughout my 16-plus year career. I am grateful city leaders have confidence in me to incorporate my experiences with staff to ensure our community has efficient and quality public works services," Schmitt said in a press release.
According to Moline officials, Schmitt's appointment means that all of Moline's city departments have permanent leaders.
