Milan restaurant closes indoor dining after armed robbery

Milan restaurant Bowlyou has closed its dining room for the safety of the staff, following an armed robbery across the street earlier this week.

MILAN, Ill. — A Milan restaurant has closed its dining room for the safety of the staff, following an armed robbery across the street earlier this week.

The robbery happened Sunday at the Walgreens in Milan. Nearby restaurant Bowlyou posted on Facebook Wednesday that it's now limited to drive-thru only for the safety of their staff.

According to Milan police, they're still working to identify the suspects who displayed a gun during the robbery.

"The two suspects were able to get away with a small amount of cash. At this point, the videos and photos we have, they were masked up. So we haven't been able to identify anyone yet," Milan Police Chief Christopher Johnson said.

Following the robbery, there was some speculation on social media about possible robberies at other Milan locations.

"There were no other armed robberies, there were no other burglaries or break-ins since then or that night. So if anybody does see anything suspicious or they feel unsafe, please do not hesitate to call us," Johnson said.

Milan police are working to develop further information on the suspects. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Milan Police Department at 309-787-8520.
