MOLINE, Ill — Mercado on Fifth is celebrating adding a new resource for local entrepreneurs.
On Wednesday, June 26, the organization hosted a grand opening of its new plaza, which includes a community kitchen. Officials said the space can be used for cooking classes, vendors testing new recipes and more.
"This is one that we wanted to have in a special place just for the Mercado community. It was a way to show gratitude to our vendors and all the work they've done eight years after inception," Mercado on Fifth's Executive Director Frances Williams said.
The plaza, including its kitchen, is available to anyone who rents out the building, with preference going to Mercado businesses and vendors.
