MILAN, Ill. — On Wednesday, Sept. 13, Meatheads Meat Market opened back up after one of their smokers caught on fire.
According to co-owner Lisa Schafman, the fire resulted in thousands of dollars worth of products being thrown out including fresh meat, bottled drinks and much more.
"We've been around since 2004... and have never had a situation like this happen," Schafman said. "We've had lots of procedures in place to make sure nothing happens like this, but accidents can happen. We are so happy to have people that helped us out and we are excited to be back. "
Lisa says she hopes to have more of their products back on the shelves by next week.
Why the smoker caught on fire is still under investigation.
