Stunt driver injured at Jackson County Fair after crashing into camper, becoming unconscious

A stunt driver was injured at the Maquoketa Speedway after driving their truck into a camper, losing consciousness, crossing a highway and crashing into a shed.

MAQUOKETA, Iowa — A stunt driver was injured at the Jackson County Fair after driving their truck through a camper, losing consciousness, crossing a highway and eventually crashing into a residential shed. 

The incident occurred during the fair's Trailer Race at the Maquoketa Speedway on Sunday, July 28. The driver was performing a stunt that involved driving through a camper. 

Video from Done Right TV shows the driver going over a small ramp and through the camper before continuing off the track and crashing into the shed. 

An Iowa State Patrol crash report said that the driver exited the track before crossing over Iowa Highway 62 and striking the shed.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and airlifted to a regional hospital to be treated for their injuries.
