SCOTT COUNTY, Iowa — A man is dead and two others are seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Scott County.
The crash occurred on Sunday, Apr. 28, around 9:30 p.m. on I-80 near mile marker 288 1/2.
An investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office determined that an SUV and a semi-truck were driving eastbound when the semi struck the rear end of the SUV. The SUV went into a ditch where it came to a rest.
The driver of the SUV was identified as 52-year-old Eric Fraelle, of Peoria. Fraelle died at the scene.
Two passengers in the SUV, a 52-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, were transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The semi-truck driver, a 31-year-old Idaho man, was not injured.
This crash is under investigation and no further information is available.
