1 man dead in Galesburg shooting incident

The Galesburg Police Department is asking anyone with information to reach out to officers.

GALESBURG, Ill. — One man is dead after a 'shooting incident,' according to a press release from Galesburg Police.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, officers responded to the 1400 block of Moshier Ave. for a shooting.

Officers entered the home and found Heath D. Williams, Sr. with multiple gunshot wounds. The officers attempted life-saving measures and Williams was transported to St. Mary Medical Center for treatment.

Williams died at the hospital around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Galesburg Police Department is currently investigating the incident with the assistance of the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Illinois State Police, and the Knox County State's Attorney's Office.
