Florida man killed in Lee County, Iowa crash

LEE COUNTY, Iowa — A Florida man is dead following a weekend crash in Lee County, Iowa, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.

The crash happened around 12:08 a.m. on Nov. 2 at the intersection of Highway 218 and Highway 16. 

According to ISP's report, a BMW was heading west on Highway 16 when the driver allegedly failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 218. A tractor and trailer heading south on Highway 218 then hit the BMW as it entered the southbound lanes of 218. 

The truck driver, a 68-year-old Missouri man, was transferred to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the BMW, 24-year-old Josue Alexander Boton Pinula of Middleburg, Florida, was killed in the crash, according to ISP's report.
