DAVENPORT, Iowa — Members of Iowa's only high school girls' hockey team are lacing up their skates for their home opener.
The Quad Cities Lady Blues will kick off the action on Saturday, Oct. 28 at River's Edge in Davenport. They'll play one game against the Western 18U team at 11:45 a.m. and then face off against the St. Louis Cyclones immediately after. The next day, the Cyclones and Lady Blues will have a rematch at 10:45 a.m.
During Saturday's games, the Lady Blues will be raising money for breast cancer research, with events such as a basketball raffle and a pink t-shirt sale. Donations will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Parking and admission are free for the entire weekend.
