KNOX COUNTY, Ill. — The Knox County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man from Havana, Illinois after he allegedly tried to meet up with a 15-year-old in Galesburg.
The sheriff's office said it received information that 32-year-old Kevin A. Cooper was communicating with the minor and had traveled to Galesburg to have sexual intercourse and bring the minor marijuana. Cooper was intercepted by KSCO detectives after he rented a hotel room and was en route to pick up the minor.
Cooper was arrested and detained at the Knox County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges including traveling to meet a minor, two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, grooming and solicitation to meet a child.
