KMAQ radio station in Maquoketa being sold to new owner

MAQUOKETA, Iowa — A longtime Maquoketa radio station has found a new owner.

After 66 years with the station, KMAQ radio owner Dennis Voy is selling the station to Jim Coloff of Coloff Media. The organization owns 12 radio stations across Iowa, including stations in Cedar Falls, New Hampton and Charles City. In a press release announcing the ownership change, station officials said all current KMAQ employees with continue with the station.

“We have a great team in place that has served the community with Dennis for many years. We hope to build on their success and bring some new technology and sound to the airwaves of Eastern Iowa," Coloff said in the press release.

Coloff said he plans to have a new website prepared for KMAQ soon.
