The remains were found in rural Kewanee back on March 10. Dental records have ruled out any known local missing persons.

HENRY COUNTY, Ill. — The Henry County Sheriff's Office said it has learned new information about human remains found in rural Kewanee back on March 10.

The remains were examined at the Illinois State Museum's human osteology laboratory, which provided several insights into the individual's identity.

Officials determined that the remains belonged to a Caucasian man who was between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, and between 30 and 53 years old. They also believe the man was in good physical condition but had experienced previous head trauma. However, the cause of death could not be determined from the remains.

Dental records have ruled out any known local missing persons. The investigation is ongoing.

A composite sketch of what the man may have looked like has been released and is attached below.
