Juveniles arrested in connection to Muscatine vandalism incidents

The suspects allegedly threw rocks at businesses, a vehicle and an apartment. Damages totaled over $36,000.

MUSCATINE, Iowa — Multiple juveniles have been arrested in Muscatine in connection to a string of vandalism incidents, according to city officials.

The arrests relate back to incidents on July 28, 29 and 30. Police allege that the juveniles threw rocks at the the YMCA on Logan Street, ProSkin Aesthetics and Wellness, a vehicle parked on the 1000 block of Hershey Avenue and an apartment window on the 1200 block of Hershey Avenue. According to Muscatine police, the incidents caused over $36,000 in damages.

In a press release about the incidents, Muscatine officials announced the following arrests:

"Three juveniles have been charged with Criminal Mischief 1st Degree in reference to the damage at the YMCA. Two juveniles have been charged with Criminal Mischief 1st Degree in reference to the damage at ProSkin Aesthetics (one arrest pending).

One juvenile has been charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree in reference to the damage to the apartment window. Two juveniles have been charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree in reference to the damage to the vehicle (one arrest pending)."
