BETTENDORF, Iowa — After more than a year of construction, Iron Tee Golf is ready to open its doors next week.
The entertainment center just nearby the TBK Bank Sports Complex has 58 climate controlled bays on its driving range, and each bay can host up to six players.
"There's always something to do, whether you're golfing, or you're in the arcade area, or you're playing Lucky Putt," General Manager Kevin Belk said.
While optional, every bay has a touch screen where guests can play different game modes, with equipment set up on the field to track the ball's position.
"Two military grade doppler radar systems — that's what's tracking these balls," Belk said.
Iron Tee Golf also has a restaurant, several bars and event space.
"Let's figure out how to operate this place and hire 200 employees, and that's what we've done," Belk said.
Impact on tourism & economy
Visit Quad Cities CEO Dave Herrell said Iron Tee Golf's location just off I-80 helps draw in visitors that will spend money in the area.
"Whether they're coming in from the Chicago suburbs, or Milwaukee, or Omaha ... being able to use it in the sales, promotional and the marketing side of things is just gonna make everybody win," Herrell said.
Herrell added that the development will help neighboring businesses and hotels succeed, meaning more tax revenue to support the community.
"It's huge for sports tourism, the people that are coming in that are out of market that are also looking for other amenities," he said.
Opening day, location, cost
Iron Tee Golf will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. before opening its doors. It's located on 6909 Iron Tee Way in Bettendorf.
The business will have reduced hours until June 2:

- Thu: 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.
- Fri-Sat: 3 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Price to rent a bay varies depending on the day and time you choose. This can range from $25-$52 per hour. Up to six players are covered by that cost.
