NEW LONDON, Iowa — A 16-year-old Iowa boy is dead after he was thrown from the bed of a pickup truck in New London on Friday, Sept. 27.
According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Cleveland Street late Friday night when it took a sharp turn onto Adams Street. The abrupt turn caused two teenagers to be thrown from the bed of the truck.
16-year-old Gavin Browning of New London was killed in the incident. Another 16-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The truck's driver was identified as a 17-year-old male from New London.
