MILAN, Illinois — The Rock Island County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Sunday, May 7, at 6:15 pm. According to a press release, deputies responded to the 8800 block of Knoxville Road in Milan, Illinois for a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
Deputies said when they arrived they found the driver of the motorcycle deceased. On Tuesday, Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson identified the driver as Brian S. Diehl, 33, of Milan.
Gustafson said the preliminary cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.
The Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction team was notified and is investigating the crash along with the Rock Island County Sheriff's Department.
