MORRISON, Ill. — Morrison residents will be receiving water use surveys in their mailboxes soon if they haven't already, according to the city. It's all part of making sure their water supplier is still complying with regulations.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requires water suppliers to develop a cross connection control program as a way to make sure water suppliers are keeping safe, potable water safe from nonpotable wastewater. A requirement of the program is to conduct a survey every three years of all water customers.
There is no cost to complete the survey for Morrison's Cross Connection Control Program and it should be completed within 30 days of receipt of the postcard.
Morrison is using the services of Aqua Backflow from Elgin, Illinois for program operations, which includes the survey. The company specializes in cross connection control program management.
