BURLINGTON, Iowa — A death investigation is underway in Burlington after human remains were found, police say.
The remains were found in the 900 block of South Main Street on Thursday, March 7, according to a press release. Police believe it is an isolated incident and say there is no threat to the public.
Both the identity and circumstances surrounding the death are under investigation by detectives with the Burlington Police Department. The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations and the Crime Scene Section of the DCI Criminalistics Laboratory are assisting.
No other information has been made available. Police say more information will be released after the investigation is completed.
