BURLINGTON, Iowa — Three juveniles, two dogs and two cats survived a Burlington house fire which made the home a total loss.
According to a press release from the City of Burlington, firefighters responded to the house fire in the 800 block of Maple street in Burlington just before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
A babysitter saw smoke and flames coming from the backside of a stove and was also alerted by a smoke detector. The babysitter, the two children and the pets were able to safely escape.
The property was not insured and is considered a total loss. The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious and it has been ruled out undetermined with no injuries reported.
