Gov. Reynolds authorizes deployment of Iowa National Guard to North Carolina for hurricane relief

The helicopter, crew and swift rescue team will be sent to assist those in need after Hurricane Helene rocked the south.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Monday that she authorized the deployment of a team from the Iowa National Guard to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

On X, Reynolds announced Iowa would send an Iowa Army National Guard helicopter, crew and swift water rescue team to join in response efforts.

On Facebook, the Iowa National Guard said the crew it was sending would be assisting communities like Glenville, NC to deliver needed food and water to those affected.
