10-year-old from Princeton raises more than $3,000 for St. Jude

Jaxon Cruse raced nearly 40 miles in laps to raise the money for St. Jude. He says it's something he's wanted to do for years.

WALNUT, Ill — Talk about racing for a cure! 

On October 7, 10-year-old Jaxon Cruse of Princeton, IL, completed 31 laps around Sunset Ridge MX racing track in Walnut, IL. That comes out to approximately 39 miles. 

Through his efforts, Cruse ended up raising $3,068 for St. Jude Children's Hospital

According to his family, this is an event Cruse has been waiting to do for several years. They say he was recognized by the Lena, IL American Legion Auxiliary for his fundraising. 

Cruse appeared as a guest on The Current, WQAD's 4pm broadcast on November 21. You can watch his full interview in the above video.
