Soup supper set at East Galesburg church to support families in need

The event has been running for nearly 40 years, according to pastor Dan England.

EAST GALESBURG, Ill. — The holidays are upon us and one area church is hoping to lend a helping hand for families this time of the year.

East Galesburg Community Chapel will host its nearly 40th annual soup supper Saturday, Nov. 18. The event is free, but money raised goes toward Christmas food baskets for people in need.

Menu items will include chili, vegetable soup, relish tray, hot dogs, chips, drinks and dessert.

The church is at 106 E. Second St. in East Galesburg near the fire station. The fundraiser runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
