GALESBURG, Ill. — A 21-year-old has been arrested after a shooting in Galesburg Thursday afternoon.
According to a press release, officers with the Galesburg Police Department responded to a shooting around 3 p.m. Thursday, March 21. The location was not released. Officials say the suspect, 21-year-old Tomas A. Rubio, was driving when the shooting occurred.
Police say the gunshot grazed the victim's left shoulder. They were treated at the scene.
Upon further investigation, police identified Rubio as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant Friday. Rubio turned himself in that same afternoon, according to the release. He was charged with attempted murder and was booked into the Knox County Jail.
