DAVENPORT, Iowa โ If you're looking to impress your friends at your NCAA basketball party this weekend, a life-sized chocolate basketball should do the trick.
Lagomarcino's in Davenport is selling limited edition chocolate basketballs to celebrate the Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark's trip to the Final Four. The balls are decorated simply with Clark's jersey number of 22.
The hollow basketball weighs around two pounds. They are priced and sold based on weight. When News 8 stopped in at the Davenport location, the basketball they had available was just under $45.00.
Lagomarcino's reports that they had sold six so far as of Thursday afternoon. If you are interested in purchasing one, the store asks that you call ahead to place the order.
The confectioner also made the basketball for the Missouri Valley Conference "Hoops in the Heartland" tournament that was held at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark in Moline in mid-March.
Lagomarcino's has been a Quad Cities staple since 1908, with its famous homemade chocolates, ice cream, and hot fudge. There are two locations, 2132 E. 11th St., Davenport, and 1422 5th Ave., Moline. The chocolate basketballs are currently only available at the Davenport store.
