Where to find a fish fry near you in the QC region

You don’t have to be Catholic to enjoy a good fish fry. Here’s a list of dinners going on throughout Lent in the Quad Cities.

MOLINE, Ill — Looking for a fish fry to fulfill your meatless Friday needs this Lent? WQAD’s got you covered! 

The 2024 season of Lent is observed Feb. 14 to March 28. To help get you through the 40 days and 40 nights leading up to Easter, we've compiled a list of fish fries going on in the Quad Cities area.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Silvis is hosting a fish fry every Friday throughout Lent, starting Friday, Feb. 16 from 4-7 p.m.

Location: 750 17th St., Silvis, IL 61282

Cost: The event will offer catfish, cod and shrimp dinners and a salad bar. Each meal comes with a salad, baked potato and toast. Carry-out is available on all dinners. Meal prices range from $12-16. 

St. Alphonsus Catholic Church

St. Alphonsus Catholic Church's annual fish fry is back in Davenport on Fridays during Lent from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Location: 2618 Boies Ave., Davenport, Iowa 52802 $14
  • Cost: Grab an adult-sized meal for $14 and dessert for $1-2.

Seton Catholic School Fish Fry

Seton Catholic School is hosting a Fish Fry at Christ the King Believers Together Center  in Moline. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online

  • Location: 3209 60th St., Moline, IL 61265
  • Cost: Meals are $15 for adults, $8 for kids and there's also a family rate of $45. Diners can enjoy limitless baked or fried fish, mac & cheese, baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, rolls and one non-alcoholic beverage. Additional drinks and desserts are available for purchase.

Green Rock-Colona American Legion Fish Fry

The Green Rock-Colona American Legion Post 1233 is hosting a Lent fish frys starting on Friday, Feb. 16 from 5-7:30 p.m. Diners can eat in or carry out. The event will take place the first and third Friday of the month through Good Friday. 

  • Location: 312 Broadway St., Colona, IL 61241
  • Cost: The feast will offer catfish, swai fillet, shrimp or frog legs, each served with a choice of potato and coleslaw or cottage cheese. The meals range in price from $9-14, with a discounted senior menu priced between $8-8.50.

Visitation Catholic School

Visitation Catholic School is hosting Fish Fry Fridays from 5-7 p.m. on Feb. 24, March 3, March 10 and March 24. The school offers dine-in, carry-out, or drive-through meals.

  • Location: 107 South Lexington Avenue, Kewanee, IL 61443.
  • Cost: Each meal includes a spread of fish, two sides, a dinner roll, a drink and dessert for $12. Additional sides or a slice of cheese pizza are also available for $2 each.

Knights of Columbus in Muscatine

The Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry at Saints Mary and Mathias Catholic Church every Friday of Lent from 4:30-7 p.m. starting on Friday, Feb. 16.

$12 fish or shrimp baked beans potatoes coleslaw cookies 

  • Location: 2407 Cedar St., Muscatine, Iowa 52761
  • Cost: $12 for a fish or shrimp meal, served with baked beans, baked potato, coleslaw and a cookie.

St. Ambrose Catholic Church

Fish fry events will take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on March 1, 8 and 22 during Lent. The events run from 4 to 7 p.m. or until fish runs out. Fried Alaskan Pollock along with baked potatoes, cole slaw, macaroni & cheese and drinks. There will also be a large selection of desserts. Take out is also available.

  • Location: Parish Hall, 820 5th Street Erie, IL 61250
  • Cost: Guests can receive a meal by making a donation to the church.

Bluff Lake Catfish Farm

Bluff Lake Catfish Farm is open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Fridays, 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays, serving up fried fish each day of the weekend. 

  • Location: 9301 95th Avenue, Maquoketa, Iowa 52060
  • Cost: The Whole and Fillet Catfish special costs $19.99, and the dinner menu also features fried ship for $16.99 and haddock bites for $15.99.

Knights of Columbus in West Burlington

The Knights of Columbus will host a fish fry 5-7 p.m. Fridays starting Feb. 16 at the Saints Mary and Patrick Parish Center in West Burlington, dine-in or carry-out.
