MOLINE, Ill. — A fire damaged a home and displaced a family the morning of Monday, Jan. 8, according to a release from Moline Fire Chief Steve Regenwether.
The fire department responded to the home at 3917 10th Ave. around 9:20 a.m., within four minutes of the initial call. Responding crews found a small fire in the attic of the residence.
The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes.
Four people and one pet were displaced as a result of the fire. The Red Cross is providing support to those displaced.
"We commend the efforts of our firefighters who responded promptly to contain the fire, preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of the residents," said Regenwether.
The Moline Fire Department's Fire Prevention and Investigations Bureau is investigating the cause of the fire.
