DAVENPORT, Iowa — Families looking for some free fun in the Quad Cities will have another option coming soon.
Beginning Saturday, Dec. 9, the Figge Art Museum will offer free admission on the second Saturday of each month. The new program is funded by a $400,000 grant from the Art Bridges Foundation.
“We are overjoyed to open our doors wider and more often thanks to the Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program. The launch of free second Saturdays underscores our dedication to being a cultural hub that is accessible to all," Figge Executive Director and CEO Michelle Hargrave said.
Museum officials said that the second Saturdays will each be centered around a theme and feature additional programming around that theme, such as exhibition tours, interactive art activities, performances and more. The theme for the inaugural event on Dec. 9 will be "Celebrating the Season of Giving."
