1 dead after UTV accident in Clinton County, officials say

The accident happened Saturday around 11:45 a.m. two miles north of Charlotte, Iowa.

CLINTON COUNTY, Iowa — One person is dead after a UTV accident in Clinton County Saturday morning, officials say. 

Around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 18, deputies with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office responded to the 1200 block of 320th Avenue for a single-vehicle accident involving a UTV. The area is located approximately two miles north of Charlotte, Iowa. 

According to the sheriff's office, the driver of the UTV died in the accident. They were the sole occupant of the vehicle. Officials have not released the victim's name pending proper family notification. 

The accident remains under investigation by the Clinton County Sheriff's Office. Other agencies that assisted at the scene include the Charlotte Fire Department, the Goose Lake Fire Department, the Delmar Fire Department, Maquoketa Ambulance and the Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office.
