MUSCATINE, Iowa — One person is dead and three others are injured after a UTV accident in Muscatine, officials say.
Around 8:10 p.m. Saturday night, April 13, a UTV was traveling northbound on Burlington Road when it struck a deer. According to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, the vehicle then left the roadway, rolled multiple times and finally came to a rest in a ditch.
58-year-old Elizabeth A. Hackett from Muscatine was killed in the incident, according to the crash report. Three others — a 30-year-old driver, a 33-year-old passenger and a 31-year-old passenger — all sustained injuries and were transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for treatment.
The Muscatine County Sheriff's Office, Muscatine Ambulance, Fruitland Fire, Letts Fire, MedForce and AirCare assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the ISP.
