BETTENDORF, Iowa — Bettendorf police have identified the victim in a fatal crash that took place on Friday, Aug. 16.
18-year-old Carter Fix was killed after the car he was a passenger in struck a parked car on the east side of the 700 block of 15th Street. The car was occupied by Fix and a 19-year-old male driver, both Bettendorf residents. Fix was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries. The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in the accident. After the investigation is completed, it will be determined if any charges will be filed.
