LASALLE COUNTY, Ill. — The LaSalle County Sheriff's Office in Illinois responded to three separate accidents over the holiday weekend with multiple fatalities reported, according to a press release.
On Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, just after 11:30 a.m., the sheriff's office responded to a two-vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 170 and N 19th Road. Multiple fatalities were reported but an exact number was not provided. Three people were transported to a local hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
The following day, on Friday, Nov. 29, the sheriff's office responded to two separate crashes, both involving two vehicles.
The first occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Illinois Route 23 and N 32nd Road, just a few miles north of Ottawa. One person was killed and four others were transported to a local hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
Less than an hour later at 2 p.m., the sheriff's office responded to another two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Illinois Route 251 and N 33rd Road. Four people were transported to local hospitals for treatment and no fatalities were reported. It remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.
