HENRY COUNTY, Illinois — Multiple people are injured and one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in rural Galva, Illinois on Friday afternoon, according to officials.
Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff's Office responded to the intersection of Galva Atkinson Blacktop (County Highway 5) and N 500th Avenue around 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 16. According to the sheriff's office, multiple people were in two vehicles and needed assistance. The nature of the crash was not disclosed.
Occupants from both vehicles were transported to local hospitals for treatment. One person was critically injured and was life-flighted to Peoria where they later died from their injuries, the sheriff's office said.
The incident remains under investigation. The sheriff's office said additional details will be released in the future at the appropriate time.
