A Geneseo man was hospitalized when the pan scraper he was driving was hit by a train.
Joshua Pierce, 40, was traveling southbound on the scraper, through the 1300E railroad crossing near 2100N in rural Geneseo when he was hit by a westbound train just before 8 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015.
Pierce was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Police said the Caterpillar pan scraper he was operating was owned by J&B Excavating of Geneseo.
No injuries were reported on the train, which is owned by Iowa Interstate Railroad.
