A tornado touched down in central Iowa leaving a path of destruction, primarily southwest of Des Moines.
The tornado touched down in Adams County, according to a report by WHO. It hit around 6:30 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015 and was part of a band of wild weather including a severe thunderstorm that brought wind and hail damage.
According to the report, there were no injuries.
Residents were in clean-up mode Monday morning, as the storm destroyed property in the area. WHO reported that a barn in Williamson, Iowa was ruined and many buildings were damaged. Cows also escaped during the weather event.
One homeowner said the tornado did damage to silos and equipment as well.
“I mean you could just see roofs and pieces of equipment just up in the air…I mean I have some pieces of equipment I can’t even find, I’m sure it’s down the road some place,” says Bob Walter.
