STERLING, Illinois- Leaders in Whiteside County went looking for the best pie bakers around Friday, April 27.
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Whiteside County held a "Celebrity" Pie Auction Friday at WSDR A.M. Radio.
Participants were asked to "bake or purchase the best pie in Whiteside County and take bids on their creation." They were also asked to do a 15 minute segment live on WSDR A.M. radio.
The auction started at 6:15 a.m. and went until noon. I participated in the event live Friday during WQAD News 8 at 11 raising money for the group. To donate online to the group, click here.
