Before you jump in the shower this morning, consider this you might want to reconsider what soap you’re using and where you’re scrubbing!
While antibacterial soaps are good at killing bad bacteria that can make us sick, they’re also good at killing the good bacteria. Your immune system could weaken if you’re not exposed to those good germs.
And you might be surprised to find that it’s okay if you skip certain parts of your body. Apparently, you don’t need to get every spot covered with the soapy lather. Experts say that only certain body parts need to get washed every day. Topping the list of important spots: armpits and groin. We’d really like to remind you to take care of those feet as well.
Organic soap without harsh chemicals is most effective at cleaning. A study published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy says regular soap is just as effective as antibacterials.
Now go wash up!
