A labor and delivery nurse from Tennessee took on the task of delivering her own baby, by herself.

Megan Whaley has been in the field for more than a decade, reported WATE, so when her baby was coming quicker than she expected, she knew what to do.

"I just pushed as hard as I could," Whaley said to WATE.

The mom said she thought she had more time because with her first two kids she was in labor for hours.  When she realized time was limited, she called her husband - who was at work - and told him to call 911. Her husband described her as "calm and controlled," WATE reported.

So calm that she even thought to prep the bathroom floor with towels.

“Then when I realized she was coming, I thought I’d rather stay in here. So I got some more towels out and lay down on the floor so when I had her, she wouldn’t hit the tile and so that I could dry her off,” Whaley said, according to the report.

Whaley's husband and an ambulance was on the way, but her new baby girl got there first.

This nurse/mom said that she advises pregnant moms to be ready for an unexpected delivery.
