By Thursday afternoon, power had been restored to most customers. In the Illinois Quad Cities, fewer than 100 customers were still without power following the wild storms and wind.  In the Iowa Quad Cities, just a handful were left in the dark.

East Moline and Rock Island County each still had about 20 customers without power around 3:45 p.m.  There were still 17 Silvis residents in the dark.

Update 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015:

Most of the remaining power outages in the Quad Cities are in Davenport and East Moline, according to a spokesperson for MidAmerican Energy.

At one point, about 3,500 outages were reported in the Quad Cities, the spokesperson said.

Crews worked through the night to restore electricity, and their work has been slowed because of continuing high winds.  Workers continued to use bucket trucks which are built to withstand high wind gusts, the spokesperson said.

The majority of MidAmerican Energy customers who lost service in the overnight storms should have electricity restored by 6 p.m. Thursday, November 12.

Update as of 10:20 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015:

Just before 9 a.m., MidAmerican Energy reported about 700 customers on the Iowa side, and just over 1,000 customers on the Illinois side, were still without electricity in the Quad Cities area.  Those numbers held steady, with just over 1,700 local customers without electricity as of10:20 a.m.

Outages were scattered; the hardest hit areas were Rock Island County including Coal Valley, East Moline and Carbon Cliff on the Illinois side, and the area of 53rd Street west of Brady in Davenport, Iowa.

Ameren Illinois reported more than 21,600 of their customers had service restored after storms struck Wednesday evening, November 11.  About two-thirds of those outages happened at about 8 p.m.  As of 7 a.m. Thursday, Ameren reported 4,700 customers were still without power in the areas of Galesburg, Macomb, Quincy and Peoria.

More than 2,300 people are without power in the Iowa Quad Cities, according to MidAmerican Energy. More than 2,200 of those without power, are in the city of Davenport. The number of power outages have increased in the Iowa Quad Cities, since about 5 a.m. Thursday.

In the Illinois Quad Cities, Mid-American Energy is reporting just 250 power outages. That is a decrease in the number of outages since about 5 a.m. Thursday.

More than 1,600 people are without power in the Illinois Quad Cities, according to MidAmerican Energy. There are more than 1,200 power outages in Henry County and Rock Island County alone.

According to MidAmerican Energy, there are also more than 400 people without power in the Iowa Quad Cities. Davenport Police also say that the overnight weather knocked over a power pole onto Brady Street near Central Park Avenue. Traffic was being re-routed off of Brady Street in that area, but by 5:10 a.m., crews had cleaned up the street and traffic was back open.

Thousands of customers were without power in the Quad Cities Wednesday evening.

MidAmerican Energy’s power outage map showed 2,841 without power in the Illinois Quad Cities and 360 without power in the Iowa Quad Cities as of 7:25 p.m. November 11, 2015.

Around 8:30 p.m., MidAmerican Energy’s map showed that about 300 residents in the Illinois Quad Cities had their power restored. About 30 more customers in the Iowa Quad Cities lost power in that time.

At 10:40 p.m. only 74 residents in the Iowa Quad Cities were still without power. Just over 900 residents in the Illinois Quad Cities still were without power.

A spokesperson from MidAmerican Energy said the outages were weather related.  As the severe weather moved across the state of Iowa, the utility company did have crews in place ready to start repairs in anticipation of bad weather.
