St. Patrick’s Day race: How to register and where to go

Walkers and runners participating in C.A.S.I.'s 33rd annual St. Patrick's Day race will gather at Main and 2nd Streets in downtown Davenport, Iowa.  The races take place before the Grand Parade XXX Saturday, March 14.

There are three different events to take part in.

  • The 5k starts at 10 a.m. Registration through March 13 costs $35 or $40 on race day.
  • Starting at 9:30 a.m. is the 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk. Registration costs $17 through March 13 or $20 on race day.
  • For the kids, the quarter-mile Tot Trot starts at 9 a.m. Cost is $17 for one and $10 for each additional Family child through March 13, or $20 on race day.

Packet pickup was Friday from noon – 6:30 p.m. and before the races on race day.

The race will temporarily close streets downtown, so if you'll be driving, be aware of the following areas.

  • 2nd Street between Harrison and Brady Streets and Main Street from River Drive to 3rd Street will be blocked to traffic from 5 a.m. to noon to be used for the run staging area.
  • 2nd Street from Ripley Street to Harrison Street will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. for the run staging area.
  • 3rd Street from Gaines Street to Brady Street as well as Harrison Street from River Drive to 3rd Street will be closed to traffic from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the race and St. Patrick's Day Parade.
  • 3rd Street from Division Street to Gaines Street will be used for the 5k run from 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
