A trash truck was stranded when a hole opened up in a street in eastern Davenport.
The truck got stuck at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 near 6th Street and Sylvan Avenue.
The hole was in the pavement and next to a storm drain. The truck’s tires hung in the hole and the weight of the truck appeared to be resting on the hydraulic tanks and frame.
To avoid spilling the load or further damaging the street, crews were planning to use heavy equipment to lift and remove the truck from the hole.
No injuries were reported.
